could you ever imagine your curtain rod fitting in your backpack?

And not only the rod, but the brackets too. Not a joke.

The problem

I’ve noticed that curtain rods are made for people who never move. They’re long, rigid and heavy, and they’re cut to fit one window. When you move, the rod either stays behind or becomes the most awkward thing in the van, and it probably won’t fit the new windows anyway.

My idea

A curtain rail with no rod at all. Just a strap and two brackets that roll up small enough for a backpack and fit any window up to 2.5 m. An eternal tug of war, holding up your curtains.

How it works

I imagined a ratchet strap, borrowed from trucks and cargo, stretched between two steel brackets. Tighten it and the tension holds the rail straight and steady. Loosen it and everything packs down in seconds.
