The name is actually quite ironic, as the house really has nothing common or ordinary about it, neither has it ever served as the chamber of any parliament whatsoever. The truth is that this over 200 years old traditional Greek house, situated on the hill of Kastro of Milos island will engrave your memory with amazing views. Simplicity and tradition are what the house and its furniture is all about, some of it dating back to some centuries ago.
Peppermint has been lucky enough to spend some of its summers on the Greek Island of Milos in the House of Commons; the breathtaking scenery and the simple way of living have nurtured our designs and have taught us that simple designs are the ones proved long-lasting.
The House of Commons is located in Kastro, the upper part of Plaka, the capital of Milos. The two balconies of the house will offer you 220° panoramic view of the entire bay of Milos island. Probably the most magnificent view of the Aegean, especially when it is time for its marvelous Cycladic sunset.
Milos offers plenty of activities, mainly during summer time. From swimming to water-sports, and sea tours to sightseeing, simply put, it is impossible to get bored. That is the reason Milos is one of the top tourist destinations in Greece.
The Aphrodite of Milos, residing today in the Louvre museum, was found some kilometers away from our house near Klima. The Archaeological Museum of Milos and the catacombs are definitely some of the most beautiful places to visit for those that enjoy history and culture.
Of course food on a Greek island can never be praised enough. Quality seafood can be found in many restaurants in Adamas, Plaka and Pollonia. When you come, we will be happy to share our favourite places with you, just ask :)
